
This well-equipped, accredited, modern 40 bed hospital provides coverage for
a catchment area of 8,000 surrounding Iroquois Falls, Ontario.
Of the 40 beds, there are 25 active care and 15 chronic care beds.
4 of the active care beds are single rooms which are used as swing beds
for acutely ill, palliative, or long-term rehabilitation patients.
The paediatrics unit is capable of handling three residents at one time.
The Emergency Department is run on a 24-hour basis.
The Emergency Department is supported by two ambulances located at the
hospital with EMCA certified crews.
On-site pharmacy duties are handled by the Patient Care Coordinator and the
Chronic Care Program Leader in consultation with two local pharmacists who visit
the hospital daily.
Anson General Hospital also boasts a Snoezelen Room – A multi-sensory stimulation environment which encourages relaxation and enjoyment. The atmosphere aids in reducing aggressive behaviors by providing an environment that is quiet, non-threatening, and pleasant.
