MICs Strategic Goals
Strategic Goals 2005-2006
- Establish a human resource plan to ensure adequate staffing levels,
including the recruitment and retention of health professionals.
- Enhance the long term plan for physician recruitment and retention
in a competitive market and ensure appropriate facilities are available.
- The MICs Group of Health Services will develop a fiscally sound
financial plan for all its entities with a focus on trying to maintain
existing services while achieving quality patient care as per MOH<C
requirements set out in the new Accountability Agreements.
- Continue to work on recommendations received from the Quality of
Work Life Study in order to enhance positive team life, communication,
education, fitness program loan, support, healthy and safe environment.
- Establish a means for identifying access to elderly services
within the MICs facilities and continue to work within our communities
to identify gaps in services for seniors. Also to be proactive in
working with local agencies to find ways these service issues get
addressed either by these other agencies were possible or were feasible
by the local Hospitals.
- Finalize a five-year capital replacement plan for all facilities
to help deal with future capital needs and replacement.
- Determine what impact the new proposed Regional Health Networks
will have on MICs facilities and provide input to the MOH<C on
implementation as requested.
- Facilitate access for residents of the MICs catchment area to
appropriate and safe mental health services by working collaboratively
with local, district and provincial agencies.
- Increase awareness and compliance of the MICs OH&S Program to
ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Continue to seek funding support for the development of
Supportive House Units.
- Develop a process to identify and investigate patient safety
issues so that they are resolved in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Work with Network Partners to ensure coordination of quality
services is accessible to our patients and make recommendations/take
action to help ensure issues are addressed.
- Continue to work on the plan to develop an affective social unit
to house clients demonstrating wandering and/or aggressive behavior.
- Foster a learning environment for Team Members, Board Members,
patients, residents, and visitors.
- The MICs Group of Health Services will develop a strategic
information plan that will guide long term planning around information
needs. Information management is an organization-wide function and includes
clinical, financial, and administrative databases. The management of
information applies to both computer-based and manual systems. This plan
will help us to organize and provide information that is fundamental to good
decision-making.
