TFT Operating room Registered Nurse
(8-hr days/evenings for 6 months)
The MICs Group of Health Services – a partnership of 3 hospitals and 3 long-term care facilities, is seeking a temporary full-time Operating Room Registered Nurse for Lady Minto Hospital, Cochrane Ontario.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of nursing care and provision of services in the Operating Suite/Recovery Room
- Practice in accordance with and reinforce the most current ORNAC standards with the OR team
- Demonstrated excellent communication and assessment skills, knowledge and practice of the Nursing Process, CNO standards and legislated acts to provide safe quality patient care to all age groups
- Evidence of following current evidence-based practice guidelines, facility policies and procedures
- Ability to communicate in French is considered an asset
- Computer literacy required (i.e. Meditech, PCS, Microsoft Outlook)
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse current with the Ontario College of Nurses, BScN considered an asset
- Must have a minimum of two years’ acute care, Operating Room and current emergency department experience
- Commitment to, and evidence of participation in continuing education
- Must hold and maintain current certification in BLS Heart and Stroke, ACLS Heart and Stroke, MDRAO, WHIMS and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
- Current competency in IV and Central Line Therapy
- CTAS training
Additional Information:
- Expected to share in the 1-in-3 on-call schedule
- This position also requires working in the Emergency Department
- Proof of immunization and vaccination records to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada
- Satisfactory Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check
