The LTC Education & Placement Lead is responsible for planning, delivering, and maintaining training and placement programs to support the long-term care team. This position develops and implements educational strategies, coordinates student placements, and ensures compliance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, Ontario Regulations, and Ministry requirements.
Key responsibilities include identifying and addressing staff training gaps, creating and evaluating learning opportunities, managing onboarding and orientation, and supporting both leadership and front-line staff development. The role also involves supervising student placements, collaborating with internal and external partners, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in education and quality of care.
Qualifications
- Regulated Health Professional in good standing with the appropriate college
- Graduate degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or a related field (equivalent education may be considered) Administration, or equivalent education
- Strong knowledge of adult education principles and emerging teaching/learning tools
- Proven leadership, coaching, and organizational abilities
- Experience in project planning, change management, budgeting, and proposal development
- Knowledge of LTC legislation, Ontario regulations, and quality improvement practices
- Advanced oral French an asset
- Demonstrated expertise in gerontology and comprehensive understanding of LTC operations preferred
- French oral proficiency at an advanced or superior level is an asset
- Proven achievement in gerontology and broad knowledge of LTC operations strongly recommended
- Valid G driver’s license
- Clear Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
Compensation
- Rate of Pay: $38.82 – 43.35 / hour (commensurate with qualifications and experience)
