PURCHASING CLERK

(full-Time 30 hrs/week )

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 2-year diploma level education in a related field
  • Keyboarding and computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the Meditech Materials Management and Accounts Payable applications
  • Willing to upgrade computer skills
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license (must provide own transportation)

General Knowledge

  • Bilingual (verbal and written) in both English and French
  • Post-secondary education in procurement, marketing, bookkeeping and/or accounting
  • Two or more years’ experience in similar or related position
  • Knowledge of BPS Standards and Guidelines

Personal Habits and Qualities

  • Ability to organize daily workload with minimal supervision
  • Team player, ability to work within a team environment
  • Interest and related experience in the health care field
  • Hold a good attendance and positive work record

Physical Condition

  • Hearing – as necessary to answer the telephone, effectively communicate and respond to alarms
  • Vision – as necessary to correctly identify products and safety operate necessary equipment
  • Must be physically fit to carry out assigned duties and possess sufficient physical strength to push carts and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs

  • Travel to other sites may be required on occasion
