Important Update on COVID-19

Visitors

As per the Chief Medical Officer of Health, only essential visitors will be allowed to visit our Long-Term Care Homes.  As such, we are also restricting visitors to our hospitals to protect our patients. The ministry is identifying essential visitors as those who have a Patient/Resident who is dying or very ill or a parent/guardian of an ill child or youth in a live-in treatment setting.

Screening at main entrances

All outpatients will be screened.

Clinics/outpatient services

Some of our outpatient services could be impacted. You will be notified if your appointment is deferred or cancelled.

If you are experiencing fever, cough or shortness of breath and have concerns, please notify the Porcupine Health Unit (1-800-461-1818) or Telehealth Ontario (1-866-797-0000) for guidance. Visit their sites for up-to-date information: http://www.porcupinehu.on.ca/en/ and https://www.ontario.ca/page/get-medical-advice-telehealth-ontario

Respiratory Outbreak at Villa Minto, Lady Minto Hospital

Villa Minto is currently experiencing a respiratory outbreak. To help protect our patients, staff, and visitors, masking is required in Emergency Departments, patient care areas, or when receiving treatment (e.g., ultrasound or lab) in acute care facilities with enhanced measures in place. 😷

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in keeping everyone safe.
