New Mandate for LONG-TERM CARE Homes

December 22, 2021

Due to an increase in COVID cases in our area and the increased mandated surveillance testing on Residents for outside outings, the MICs Group of Health Services has made the difficult decision to limit outings to 2 outings per Resident over the Holiday Season (Wednesday December 22, 2021 @ 23h59 until Wednesday January 5, 2022 @ 23h59).
Please note that the current mandate requires that the Resident be swabbed 3 times per single outing and our supplies are quickly being depleted. We are working diligently to obtain more swabs and will lift this restriction as soon as possible based on our Public health region’s COVID case numbers.
In the interim, the 2-outing limit is meant to ensure fairness in the allotment of swabs so that each and every Resident will have the opportunity to enjoy an outing during the holiday season.
Currently, fully vaccinated visitors may still enter the home with a negative antigen test. The maximum number of visitors per Resident remains two at one time. We continue to ask visitors to visit their specific Resident and not to interact with other Residents within the home. Some families have made the difficult choice to limit outings and visits with their loved ones due to the increased COVID activity in our area, and we ask that their wishes for limited outside interaction with their loved ones be respected.
We thank you for your ongoing patience and consideration as we navigate a difficult holiday season. We need your help and cooperation to keep all our Residents safe.

SCM Redevelopment Update

October 19, 2021

The Town of Iroquois Falls held their public meeting to sever the land to AGH on August 30, 2021. This has now been approved as well as the rezoning for a Long-Term Care home. Our next steps are to update our costing of the 96-bed build; submit a financial budget, financing plan, etc. to the Ministry for their review. Once they approve our financial information, they will hold their public consultations for the increase in beds and the new location before issuing a Development Agreement to build. We are hoping this will be completed in early 2022.
