Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers safe, high-quality patient care in accordance with professional standards and the policies of the MICs Group of Health Services. As a key member of the interdisciplinary care team, the RN is responsible for patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and supervision of other nursing staff.

Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the RN also supports effective communication among team members, ensures accurate clinical documentation, and contributes to the overall coordination of care. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound clinical judgment, clear communication, and a commitment to patient safety in both acute and long-term care settings.

Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) preferred
  • Commitment to and evidence of participation in continuing education, including but not limited to MICs mandatory education sessions
  • Current ACLS Heart and Stroke, BLS – Heart and Stroke
  • Excellent assessment skills; knowledge & practice of Nursing Process, CNO standards & legislated acts to provide quality patient care to all age groups; follow best practice guidelines
  • Communication skills level to understand and follow facility policies & procedures; English speaking, French an asset
  • Experience with computers including Microsoft Outlook, PCS/Meditech
  • Physical ability to perform job duties
  • A satisfactory criminal record check will be required by the successful candidate as a condition of employment
Compensation
  • Rate of pay: $39.07 / hour as per the ONA collective agreement
  • Paid benefits & vacation as per the ONA collective agreement
  • Enroll in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
